It’s open source, so you can get it for yourself anytime!

But, no, I don’t think I happen to still have it sitting.

    Dear Rachel,
I don’t know your current email, so I reckoned I’d find you here instead. 🙂
I’m so sorry to have cancelled on you today…you sounded a bit tired and out of sorts on the phone, and I felt really guilty! I just think it’s probably much easier for everyone this way since Myfanny can’t pick up Aunty Gerrie. It would have been really nice to have stayed with you, and had a good chat…I’d have come with you yesterday rather than going to Johan’s if I had known how it was going to work out his way…I’ll do my very best to come and stay a night with you sometime soon!
I’m going to miss everyone in Alaska, but I hope I’ll be able to keep in touch a bit…you never know, maybe I’ll start blogging…:)
    Lots n lots of love,
    Jacqueline

Lol, guidemehome, I just found your comment! I didn’t realise you were still hiding in the woodwork round here 😛

I don’t think Squeekie would appreciate being squished for 8hours a night… 🙂 but he certainly sings better than my pillow!

Heya – you don’t like your life any better than your pillow? Anyway–

I was wondering how you like the blog system you’re using. Do you have the ability to upload multiple photos at one time or do you have to upload each one individually? (Heh – you don’t do much photo-posting anyway, so u may not know.)

    Thanks!
Sam (In Texas FP congregation, of course)

I canny phone, that is too expensive! I’m a skint unemployed student who is dilligently seeking employment as best as one can without having internet access at home. Major withdrawl symptoms ;), but I’m surviving. Canny log in to post to ma blog cos I canny remember ma password :s

Sam – can’t speak for Rach but i’m a big fan of WordPress. I don’t use photos much but it seems like you can upload multiple images. I have the impression that blogger might still be better for that kind of thing but i could be wrong.

    Hey Sam!

Sorry its taken me *forever* to get back to you! No excuses, I’m just not ‘virtual’ enough these days 😉 But it’s good to hear from you all the same!

But, yes, I’m quite biased towards wordpress.

However, if you’re talking photos… I personally prefer to just do the job properly and go with Flikr…. and worry about the link-ins afterwards. (Which, incidentally, I’ve been quite impressed with.) That way, when anyone clicks my photos, they’re automatically taken to my “photo world” rather than seeing some hideous blog-software-produced-page that can’t justifiably duplicate all the functionality of a photo-sharing-app.

If you want an all-encompassing product, I can’t really claim any expertise in that area because that’s not really the way I prefer working myself. But that’s not to say wordpress is no good in that area, for example a bonus of wordpress is that you can always add your own code widgets/ extensions
(Not sure if blogger has moved on, but I suspect wp is still in front on this area.)

    Hope that is someway meaningful…

    Regards,
    Rachel

Yes indeed – twas helpful. And until I do a bit more research I guess I’ll just stick with Blogger. I just wish I could upload multiple photos at a time. Of course I can upload many in one post, but you gotta go through the process of selecting and uploading them for every single one.

Thanks for the info and come visit me blog again sometime! 😉

    Hehe… what’s that? Blatant stats-boosting-request? 😉

    Lol… I *might* oblige… if it’s mutual! 😛

I went from using Blogger to WordPress and then back to Blogger again. There’s not that much difference between them but the WordPress dashboard is probably better (although Blogger do seem to have improved this aspect recently). WordPress is limited in terms of widgets because you aren’t allowed any Javascript (unless you do the self-hosted thing) so Blogger is better if you’re after a few more bells & whistles. In the end, I couldn’t really be bothered putting much effort into blogging so I’ve gone down the FriendFeed and Swurl route for auto-blog generation based around my other online shenanigans. Swurl is good for photo-blogging – it can import your Flickr photos and provides an embedded slideshow and you can add your blurb underneath. It’s not yet possible to blog directly in Swurl but I believe it’s coming. You can import your WordPress/Blogger blog into it in the meantime.
