my favourite window

13 Sep

Recently I went down to my local leisure centre, and was quite serendipitously surprised to discover a rather special aspect of its design.

It has a big window taking up most of one length of the pool. Not sufficiently close to be unsettling, but more as some kind of well-placed backdrop.

It seemed to be arranged in some kind of grid pattern – geometric yet not glaringly so. In fact, I don’t even really remember what the window was like… it was the view that interested me most!

It has been quite strategically placed to face the direction of the sunset. First, clear blue in an inviting shade. Then a few lengths later, the view is streaked with orange; purple and black highlights.

So pretty!
