What is there to say, really?
When one of my friends asked, “so, is that the most frightening thing you’ve ever done”, I had to blinkingly reply “Yes, probably”.
I’ve been in denial since Saturday. Hence losing my relish for the little intricacies of the story.
You see, I’m not convinced anyone was particularly impressed when I ‘fessed up – while sitting splat on some icey ridge – to how I got scared walking the pavement to work some slippery days.
Nevertheless, I have to thank my new friend M for his motivational patience. And a respectful nod to a Chinese friend too. It was them who persuaded me the summit was still attainable… one cautious step after another.
By then I had long lost caring about lactic acid, wind, the progressively healthy appetite; breaking through the snow-crust to my knees. I wasn’t even taking pictures any more.
Just a pity the summit was shrouded in mist. But so amazingly worth it, for all that!
Tramping back through the snow-clumped grass was curiously relaxing. Then the cuppa tea with us all round that open fireplace was some cosy reverie. (I don’t think I nodded off…)
By 8:30, there was very sleepiness, but with contentment.
[On reflection, I have experienced one event more terrifying. Maybe one day I'll tell you that story...

“A watched battery never charges”
The DMC-TZ2 Panasonic Lumix 10.x optical zoom; 28mm wide angle lens; 6.0Mpx [/blurb] arrived today! 
I missed the sunset tonight. That’s what I get for working too hard. (hum-ho, its not a complete lie, honest )
So anyway, here’s hoping the snow will arrive tomorrow.

Squeaky van Flufvel
I thought it was high time I introduced you all to my new friend. He’s quite a little sweetie!
The other day he flew over to my shoulder and started singing in my ear. Quite adorable even if the high pitch was a little overwhelming. 
Well, there’s not much to say, really… not without letting you experience the joys of his nails digging into you.
Guess its time to kiss him goodbye and head out for my Oliebollen!

laptop: to take or not to take
Going on holiday, there’s always the tantalizing decision w.r.t. the laptop. One of my friends summarised it quite well:
…I always end up taking it! Regret it when I’m struggling with my luggage and then really glad when I have it at home.
But what’s the official verdict? Should we allow/force ourselves to be offline for a week, with the inspiring freedom that gives, or are there just too many “justifiable commitments” and benefits for such a drastic course of action?
